CREST STAR Investigators

CREST Star Investigators is a UK wide science awards scheme for children aged from 5 to 12. The scheme enables children to think about, discuss and investigate authentic scientific problems. It will operate mostly in science clubs, but may also be used in class time.

The investigations will be presented in formats that are exciting and relevant to children, in printed versions of text messages, emails, websites, and in stories.Children will be encouraged to work both collaboratively and independently of the club organiser or teacher and to communicate their results in a variety of ways.

The resource packs will contain activities, in-depth support notes for teachers and club leaders, CREST Star Investigators badges, stickers to mark the completion of each activity and Star Logs to record the children's progress towards Awards:

  • Star (5-7 year olds, KS1)
  • Super Star (7-11 year olds, KS2)
  • Mega Star (8-12 year olds, KS2)
  • Young Science Ambassadors (9-12 year olds, KS2)
