Visiting the Science Museum with 11-14 year olds

A visit to the Science Museum provides a unique and stimulating context for students to develop their understanding of Science and other subject areas.

The Museum’s popular Launchpad gallery provides hands-on brains-on learning in the key curriculum areas of sound, light, forces and motion, electricity and magnetism, energy transfer and materials.

Also packed with hands-on exhibits, Energy- Fuelling the Future looks at our uses of energy today and in the future.

Book a Show or request to meet one of the Museum’s popular costumed characters to change the pace of your visit and make it even more engaging.

Watch a stunning 3D film in the Museum’s IMAX Cinema or be amazed by the objects in galleries such as Who am I?, Exploring Space, Challenge of Materials and Secret Life of the Home.

New from December 2010 is Atmosphere, a brand new hands-on gallery exploring climate science.

Educational visits to the Science Museum are free but must be pre-booked. Charges apply for some activities. To book call 020 7942 4777 or visit
