Become a Scientist

Did you know that laughter is contagious? Would your students like to take part in a research experiment helping scientists to better understand the way we perceive and react to laughter?

The Royal Society, together with the researchers behind LOL! The science and art of laughter from the Summer Science Exhibition are conducting a worldwide experiment from now until October 2012. Everyone’s data will contribute and the results will be available online later in the year.

The research is conducted online, will take no more than 30 minutes, and requires an IT suite and headphones.

Teachers may also be interested in videos of this year’s schools shows aimed at 14-18 year olds: “The wonders of chemistry” and “Coprolite chemistry - what fossilised faeces can tell us about extinct animals”.
