Making Sense of the Coronavirus Pandemic

The life of every child in the UK in 2020 has been fundamentally affected by the coronavirus pandemic. They will have had many different experiences: the trauma of a family member or close friend being ill or dying from Covid-19; family members working on the NHS front line of just learning form home in isolation..

To help children make sense of the pandemic, Collins have created this free resource.

There are nine questions which cover different scientific aspects of the coronavirus pandemic. They provide opportunities to build children’s knowledge and understanding of the science that explains the disease and its consequences, with questions to explore further and investigations to pursue. For each question the science is clearly explained for teachers to use, with links to relevant National Curriculum content, other teaching resources and lessons taken from the Snap Scienc.

The Collins Covid-19 resource can be found from the Snap Science page: Snap Science
