The Proceedings of the Old Bailey, 1674-1913  is a fully searchable edition of the largest body of texts detailing the lives of non-elite people ever published, containing 197,745 criminal trials held at London's central criminal court. Free to use it is constantly being updated with new explanatory resources.

In addition to the online records there are also resources explaining the historical background of crime at the time looking at policing methods and the types of punishment. Sections look at life in London at that time and the experience of different communities through the courts is also explored.
