Bailey, 1674-1913 is a fully searchable edition of the largest body of
texts detailing the lives of non-elite people ever published, containing
197,745 criminal trials held at London's central criminal court. Free
to use it is constantly being updated with new explanatory resources.

and the types of punishment. Sections look at life in London at that
time and the experience of different communities through the courts is
also explored.

online resource has been used as the background material for the
award-winning BBC series Garrow’s Law as well as the current Radio 4
series ‘Voices from the Old Bailey’
