Infectious diseases: immunity

This resource explores how the immune system recognises and destroys pathogens such as bacteria and viruses inside the body. It considers how vaccination enables the body to respond more quickly to future infection by that pathogen, immune memory and herd immunity. It concludes with consideration of the advantages and disadvantages of monoclonal antibodies for treating disease.
