Solarcentury lesson 2: Is solar power part of the energy solution in the UK?

The Solarcentury lessons have been developed in partnership with UYSEG and consist of a PowerPoint presentation and comprehensive teacher guidance. The target age group is students aged between 14 and 16 years.


 

'Is solar power part of the energy solution in the UK?' explores how electricity is generated and used within the UK and the contribution of solar panels. It then explores the relative solar radiation within the UK before considering the electricity a typical solar panel installation generates compared with the typical electrical use of a family household. It concludes with the arguments for and against solar farms.
