EDT is an independent registered educational charity, established in 1984, which aims to inspire and motivate young people to fulfil their potential through careers and courses in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). The EDT gives students the opportunity to experience real life exposure to industry, business and higher education. The Trust is a leading national provider of work related programmes targeting 11 to 21 year olds and annually involves over 6000 students by helping them to make informed choices at key stages in their education.

EDT offers the following schemes;

First Edition is part of EDTs Widening Participation Programme designed to address under-representation within STEM career pathways to pupils in Year 7 to 10 (S1 to S4) by providing a range of curriculum enrichment days.



Go4Set links Year 8/9 (S2) pupils to local companies and universities through a 10 week STEM project.



Engineering Education Scheme provides Year 12 (S5) students with a real scientific, engineering and technological challenge to solve over a 6 month period.



Headstart offers science, technology and engineering experience courses at university for Year 12 (S5).

The Year in Industry provides career development work placements for Pre-University and Undergraduate students.
