UK Youth Rocketry Challenge

About UK ROC 🚀

UK Roc is a competition for young people aged 11-18 from any secondary schools, colleges, educational facilities or youth groups to design, build and launch a model rocket, ensuring its fragile cargo (a raw egg!) is safely delivered back to the ground without breaking.

The competition is designed to encourage creativity, innovative thinking, and appeal to young people interested in STEM and inspire them to consider fascinating careers in the aerospace, defence and space sectors while equipping them with transferable skills for higher education and employment.

2024 COMPETITION

We are launching the 2024 competition with a social media campaign across our channels and sending eshots out to schools. We’re hoping and working hard to make our 2024 competition bigger and better than before!

The deadline for teams to enter is February 2024 with regional events planned across the UK in April 2024, a National final in May 2024 and an International Final hosted at the Farnborough International Air Show 2024 where our National finalists compete against teams from the USA, France and Japan.

We strongly believe UK ROC is a really fantastic way to encourage team building and STEM applications and we receive positive feedback every year the competition has run.
